The Richland 44 School Board agreed unanimously to meet next week to consider the non-renewal of Superintendent Tim Godfrey’s contract.
Godfrey, who is on paid administrative leave, was viewed by a number of the board members as having done an unsatisfactory job. Community relations in general, as well as those in relation to the alleged sexual harassment and hazing scandal that came to light last month were contributing factors.
In that incident the Richland County Sheriff’s Office told KBMW News that five juveniles were referred to court to face charges of hazing, sexual assault, felonious restraint, and terrorizing.
